Jack and Mimi's Excellent Adventure

For April vacation this year, we decided to tour NYC for a few days and we had a great time! We spent the night in Rye, NY at my college roommate's house and then took the train in from there, which was an adventure for the kids. We checked in to our hotel in Times Square and found out that the Pope was going to be going down 5th Avenue! We waited
a little over an hour amongst thousands of people, listening to lots of singing, but finally he came by in his Popemobile. It was on Kelly's “bucket list” to see the Pope so this was a great plus on the trip. The kids got a great view - as we held them up - my view however was of the back of Jack's shirt. The kids were disappointed our pictures weren't good but we keep reminding them that the best picture will always be in their memories. From there the adventure started - we trekked across Central Park to see the Museum of Natural History, visited the Turtle Pond, the Central Park Zoo and the Carousel. We also went on a boat tour and got a great view of the Statue of Liberty and then we took the double decker bus tour around the city. We visited South Street Seaport, St. Paul's church and Ground Zero, St. Patrick's cathedral, took in the sites from the 70th floor of 30 Rock, walked through Chinatown, had breakfast in a diner with singing waitresses, lunch in Hell's Kitchen, had dinner in Little Italy and Greenwich Village, and so much more....we really got around. We had to go to ESPN Zone for dinner for Jack one night so he could get his Red Sox fix and of course we went to the American girl Place for Mimi. Mimi wants to live there on the weekends now and Jack just wants to live at ESPN Zone. - Tim and Kelly

Greetings from The Grand Canyon!

We made it here on Wednesday - after a stop at a New Mexican Indian village (ACOMA) and of course we "stood on the corner in Winslow, Arizona" -- Spent the night in Holbrook, AZ and enjoyed some great Route 66 and Cowboy influence -- Since we arrived here at The Grand Canyon, we've been absolutely blown away...words can't describe the awesomeness of this place...spent two nights in the National Park and are leaving today (have LOTS of unbelievable pics). Definitely one of those "life's list" experiences...Roberta is doing great! Fresh mountain air at 7,000 feet and some outstanding views...Congrats to Amy & Buddy! Hope all is well with everyone..Love, Bob & Gang.

Greetings from Santa Fe!

Well, we made it to Santa Fe, New Mexico on Saturday and have been loving this beautiful part of the country. Jen's sister Amy and her husband Lincoln live here and have been great tour guides-making sure we get a genuine glimpse of New Mexico living. We've spent some time in the plaza district of Santa Fe-where the Native Americans sell art, etc, visited the Georgia O'keefe museum, climbed to approx. 9,000 feet (in the van of course), rode the Santa Fe railroad and visited an old coal mining ghost town...The views are breathtaking...And we haven't even made it to the Grand Canyon yet! -- We'll write again when we get to Arizona...-Bob

Sincerely,
Bob & Jen Nealon

Edwards Update from Charlotte (Buddy, Amie, & Brylie + 2)

Hello everyone! I am finally back home after 8 weeks and 2 days in the hospital. Thank you to everyone for all the thoughts and prayers over the last few months. We are finally in the home stretch, I am now 34 weeks + 2 days. Being home is wonderful. I am so thankful to have some time to spend with Buddy and Brylie at home before the boys arrive. Although I am still on restricted bed rest, I am able to get up and move from each level of the house once a day and take a shower. Buddy has been a super Dad and Husband these past few months, from visiting me every day to spending lots of time with Brylie and taking care of all the baby stuff. Brylie turns 2 next Saturday, April 12th. She is so much fun, talking up a storm! She loves to sing, read books, go to the library, the park and feed the ducks at the duck pond. Her favorite things, aside from her weekly library books are 4 Little Einstein Flash Cards - June, Quincy, Annie & Leo, which she carries with her everywhere. She even takes the to bed and puts them night night on her ottoman. She sings to them, plays hide and seek, hugs them and kisses them! Needless to say her birthday theme will be Little Einsteins. One of the sweetest thing she said recently to her Dad was, "Daddy you are my Best Friend", completely out of the blue. From that quote, you can tell how much quality time her and Buddy have had over the past few months. Bailey, Austin, Pam and Shawn came over on Tuesday, April 1st to celebrate Bailey's 6th birthday - they all had so much fun and after they left, Brylie kept saying - "That was Fun".

Looks like we will definitely have 2 more April birthday's in the family, the boys are scheduled to arrive on April 25th (Buddy's Birthday), unless they decide to come earlier on their own. They measure about 5lbs each now and are definitely running out of room! We are looking forward to their arrival and continue to pray for healthy babies and a safe arrival. Any advice that the veteran twin parents have for us on surviving the first couple of weeks is welcome - feel free to email me!

On the job front - Despite the slowdown in the housing market, Charlotte is still hanging in there - AC Lynn Homes sold their first spec house in January and have a closing date of April 10th for the 2nd spec house. They are currently working on a basement job and are bidding on a few others. They finished a commercial up fit for a Jimmy John's sub shop in March and are expecting repeat business as the owner plans to open up another franchise early summer. Bank of America has been wonderful to me - I have been able to continue to work full-time throughout my 3 month bedrest and plan to work the next few weeks as much as I can. It has really helped to make the days go by faster, especially in the hospital. I think that about brings everyone up to date on our family. We will keep everyone posted on the big day!! My home email is amieedwards@carolina.rr.com and buddy's is buddyedwards@carolina.rr.com.

Picture above of Brylie - sporting her dad's Boston hat, her Guinness necklace and "red sox" - routing on the team from way down South!

Report from West Dennis (Tim & Jeanne)

We had a great trip to Tucson in November and did a little climbing which was a little challenging but fun. Christmas with our family at Libby's was wonderful then we settled in for an uneventful winter with very little snow.
Our family enjoyed a great weekend at Bretton Woods in January. On Saturday all 15 of us were over at the mountain with 14 of us skiing, some for the first time and some for the first time in a long time. Peter had to be our cameraman since he was recovering from surgery. Nanny and Grandpa Tim even got to do a little tubing with the kids on Sunday.
We were in Key West for 2 great, relaxing weeks and now we are just waiting for Spring to arrive.
We look forward to seeing everyone at Sagamore this summer.
Love to all,
Jeanne and Tim

Amie is home from the hospital!!

The happiest news the Langenbachs have to share is that Amie was allowed to
go home yesterday March 31st. Her Doctor is very pleased that the twins are weighing in at 4 3/4lbs. each and he is planning on an end of April delivery. Brylie's birthday is Saturday, April 12 she will be
two and we are all so happy and thankful Amie will be home for that celebration. Thank you all for your prayers. Much love to everyone, Pam

Roberta is in the home stretch!!!!

Roberta completed the final chemo treatment last Friday. The outlook is great. After spending the winter staying very close to home, we are now looking forward to some traveling. Off to New Mexico and Arizona with Jen, Bob and family for the April vacation week. We will spend most of the month of May in Largo, Florida with Roberta's sister, Renie. Planning to enjoy sun and fun. Then back to the Cape just in time to plant the flowers.
Thanks to everyone for your cards, calls, good thoughts and expressions of love and support during the past 5 months. We really appreciate it.
Love to all, Roberta and Terry

From the Ridgleys (Libby Nealon Ridgley & family)

Hello all from the Ridgley Family! We are back in full swing after almost 3 weeks of much needed vacation! Disney World was a lot of fun. We went to almost everything in Epcot and Magic Kingdom. The kids 4 1/2, 6 1/2 and 8 1/2 were great ages to enjoy it! We then went to Delray Beach which is where Peter's parents and grandparents live. That was the best part of the trip - being with family and enjoying the weather!
I am keeping busy shuttling the kids to school and activities. I am also playing tennis and running when I can. I am hoping that I get picked from the lottery to run the San Francisco 1/2 Marathon for Lymphoma in October. I am looking forward to spending the summer in Chatham!
Pete is continuing working hard at Iron Mountain as the Director of Information Security. He is looking forward to getting the boat in the water & fishing. We are hoping he can work from Chatham on Mondays and Fridays this summer.
Will is in 2nd grade and is practicing his praying mantis part in his school play. He will be dressed up as a priest bug. He is going to be playing chess, baseball and tennis this spring. He is going to make his First Communion on May 10th. Will's favorite thing is Pokemon.
Pierce is in kindergarten at a great school in Westborough where all the teachers call him BMOC - big man on campus, but he will soon be a little guy at Fay. We are so happy that he and Will will attend the same school. Pierce's favorite things to do are listen to music (the Easter bunny brought him his own cd player), write love notes to everyone in the family, draw and build things. Since the boys share a room for sleeping, Pierce's room holds all the building supplies and art supplies. Pierce is going to play soccer, tennis and go to the Reading Studio this spring. He is busy all the time!
Lily is a in preschool 3 mornings a week at the same school Pierce goes to. She is a strong willed, but sweet little girl. She loves dolls and keeping up with her brothers. She learned to swim on her own while we were in FL. She takes ballet and tap, does a little cooking class at Hooray for Books and goes to the Reading Studio. She will hopefully take tennis too - I have lots of little tennis skirts and dresses waiting in her closet!
We are loving our 7 month old Golden Retriever, Miley. Simba, our 13 year old cat is adjusting slowly by not coming downstairs. Turtwig, Will's turtle just swims & eats gold fish.
Life is good in the Ridgley household. We love you all! Lib
